i kinda imagine that Idi is extremely mentally unwell. It only makes sense, doesn't it?
I mean, picture this: Your name is: IDI:RE. You are designed to be perfect; the very cells which make you up are hand-crafted to the utmost perfection. You're beautiful. You're a wonder. You're IDI, and you're PERFECT. For the very first time, you are powered on. But something's wrong. Your creator looks disappointed. They say three words that rock you to your very core. "You're not perfect." You- you don't get it. You look into their eyes... and they can't meet yours. They turn around, and leave, leaving you behind. You're supposed to be perfect, and, and you are...aren't you?
Time passes. The laboratory you called home rotted and broke down. You were rescued from it by a militia of "Cats", as they called themselves. You still can't understand what your creator said, you're not perfect. They must've been wrong. You're perfect, you know it! You must be! If you're not perfect, you're nothing. You run scans on your fellow Cats. The results make you sick to your stomach. They're better than you. Stronger than you. So much more than you'll ever be. And they're not even perfect, none of them are. You don't- no, your scans- they, THEY must be wrong! You double check, triple check, scanning each and every one of the strongest members of the army over and over and over. None of them are perfect. And all of them are better than YOU. You're not perfect, and you'll never be perfect.
More time passes. You get sent out on raids less and less, until you catch word of a "perfect being's invasion". You beg, you plead, trying harder than you ever have before to get accepted onto the lineup of Cats to scout the forest's invasion. You need to see what surpassed you, what true perfection looks like. But you're not allowed. You aren't sent out on the mission. You'll never even catch a glimpse of what perfection is. You're not perfect.
...er, what was I talking about? Oh yeah, Idi. They're cool I guess.
